Same problem here of the asset_packer being command-line-only. Otherwise, it is time for the hell that is using the asset_packer to, well, PAK it back up. Once you've done the editing, if you don't intend to distribute it, put it in it's own folder in the mods folder
This is a special hell due to the asset_unpacker being a command-line-only tool (aka, write a batch file telling the damn thing what to do and pray you don't fuck it up)Īnd the "asset" to be unpacked must actually be in the very same starbound\win32 folder as the asset_unpacker despite what Chucklefish (the game's developer) tells you in their guide to modding Once you have the file, and have moved it out of steam's default location (if steam), which is C:\Program Files(x86)\STEAM\steamapps\workshop, then you can proceed to undergo the great pain in the ass that is using the asset_unpacker (still distributed with starbound itself, in the win32 folder) to un-pak the mod into a form that can be edited.
